Our Cultural Origins
The Vespa Committee Washington DC started in 2018 as a program committee of the Casa Italiana Sociocultural Center, and has experienced tremendous growth since its launch. We are a unique cultural organization that celebrates the creation of the Vespa, recognizes its introduction at the time of Italy's liberation from fascism at the end of World War II, when it instantly became and remains a symbol of liberty throughout the world. The Vespa Committee of Washington DC goes forward into the future to educate others about our culture and its nexus between both Italian culture, art, design and the general breath of scooter culture. The Vespa Committee of Washington DC does not discriminate in any way. ALL SCOOTERS ARE WELCOME. All people too. We are recognized as the Washington DC affiliate of the Vespa Club of America. As a cooperative cultural organization, we hope to collaborate with scooterists, artists, musicians, and all lovers of Italian culture throughout the United States and the world.
