We are diverse group of scooterists who invite you to join us in celebrating Italian/American culture, art, design and the positive impact that the Vespa has had on the world. We believe that the Vespa lives as an iconic symbol of liberty, freedom and the joy of living
Our Beginnings
We are proud to have emerged from our humble beginnings as a program committee of the Casa Italiana Sociocultural Center to our present status as an independent foundation. We started by sponsoring occasional rides and moved to organizing monthly rides, hosting garage days, hosting social events, sponsoring a women's riding group (Vespa Donne), coordinating with The Small Bore Corp (another local scooter club), partnering with LaMoto of Washington DC and sponsoring an annual Raduno (Rally) in the nation's capital
Non-profit
The Vespa Committee Washington DC Inc. is an IRC 501(c)3 private foundation as designated by the Internal Revenue Service. Along with our partner, LaMoto of Washington, we sponsor a scooter donation program that gifts scooters to deserving GMU college students. All financial and scooter donations to the Vespa Committee of Washington DC Inc. are tax deductible to the fullest extent of the law
